Correction process
Every data-correction request goes through the same review path, whether it comes in as "incorrect data" or "correction request":
- Submission received. Your email is logged against the page/record in question.
- Source record reviewed. We check the original public source (EOIR, ICE, or CourtListener/RECAP — see Data & Methodology) to confirm whether our page matches it.
- Correction approved, rejected, or marked unresolved. If our page diverges from the source, we approve the correction. If our page matches the source but you believe the underlying record itself is wrong, we mark it unresolved and point you to the originating agency or court, since we can't alter their record — only how we display it.
- Data refreshed. Approved corrections are applied on the next data refresh for that dataset (see per-dataset cadence on the methodology page); layout or clearly-wrong-field errors are fixed directly.
- Requester notified where possible. If you included a reply-to email, we'll let you know the outcome.
We can't verify identity claims by email, so requests asserting "this record is about me and I want it removed" are handled as corrections against the public source, not as identity-verified takedowns — seePrivacy Policy for how we handle that distinction.
