Data & Methodology

All data on this site is compiled from free, public sources:

• Immigration court data — the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) FOIA Library, via the Deportation Data Project's processed tables.
• Detention facility data — the Deportation Data Project's processed ICE facilities dataset.
• Federal civil lawsuits — the CourtListener/RECAP Archive (Free Law Project), filtered to immigration-related Nature-of-Suit codes.

Immigration-court pages show aggregate statistics (case counts, outcome rates) rather than individual respondents' records, to keep the focus on public-interest information about how the system operates rather than on private individuals. Federal civil lawsuits are shown at the docket level because they are public court filings with public captions.

Update cadence and last-refreshed dates per dataset will be published here as each data pipeline goes live.
